Horse-to-Horse Comparison Tables

InClover Pars Report by Distance Tables
Included Pacelines for Each Table:
  • Today’s Distance Comparison Table: Includes pacelines from the horse’s last ten that were the same distance as today’s race.
  • Within 1 Furlong of Today’s Distance Comparison Table: Includes pacelines from the horse’s last ten races that are within 1 furlong of today’s distance.
  • Today’s Category Comparison Table: Includes pacelines from the horse’s last ten that are the same distance category (sprint/route) as today’s race.
Table Terms:
  • Pgm: The horse’s program number for the race.
  • PostPos: The horse’s post position for the race. This refers to the number of the starting gate stall.
  • ML: The horse’s morning line odds for the race. The morning line odds are the initial odds set by the track’s oddsmaker before betting begins on the race.
  • Horse: The horse’s name.
  • Run Style: The horse’s typical racing tactic. This helps assess race dynamics and potential pace scenarios.
    • Early: The horse likes to break quickly and set or contest the lead from the start. It does its best running on the front end and often tries to “wire” the field.
    • Early/Presser: The horse is a versatile runner that can either set the pace or sit just off the leaders. It is usually close to the front early and can adapt to different pace scenarios.
    • Presser: The horse prefers to track just behind the leaders early on. It will conserve energy before making a move around the far turn.
    • Sustainer/Closer: The horse usually settles near the back of the pack early and relies on a strong late run in the stretch to pass tiring rivals.
  • Date of Last Race: The date of the last time the horse raced in any race.
  • Run: For the most recent paceline included in the dataset of the table: Post Position/Start Call Position/2nd Call Position/Stretch Position/Finish Position.
  • Avg E1: This is the average of the Brisnet E1 par speed benchmarks for the horse for all the races included in the dataset of the table. E1 is the Brisnet par speed performance benchmark for the first 2 furlongs of a race.
  • Avg E2: This is the average of the Brisnet E2 par speed benchmarks for the horse for all the races included in the dataset of the table. E2 is the Brisnet par speed performance benchmark for the first 4 furlongs of a race.
  • Avg Late: This is the average of the Brisnet Late par speed benchmarks for the horse for all the races included in the dataset of the table. Brisnet’s Late par speed performance benchmark for the remainder of the race after the first 4 furlongs of the race.
  • Avg Bris Spd: This is an average of the Brisnet par speed benchmarks for the horse for all the races included in the dataset. The Brisnet’s par speed performance benchmark covers the entire race.
  • Avg DRF Spd: This is an average of the DRF par speed performance benchmarks for the horse for all the races included in the dataset. The DRF’s par speed performance benchmark covers the entire race.
  • E1+/- : This value is the horse’s average E1 par minus the E1 par of Today’s race. Tells you how much over or under the E1 par of Today’s race the horse’s average E1 par is.
  • E2+/- : This value is the horse’s average E2 par minus the E2 par of Today’s race. Tells you how much over or under the E2 par of Today’s race the horse’s average E2 par is.
  • Late+/- : This value is the horse’s average Late par minus the Late par of Today’s race. Tells you how much over or under the Late par of Today’s race the horse’s average Late par is.
  • Speed +/- : This value is the average of the horse’s Brisnet and DRF speed pars minus the Speed par of Today’s race. Tells you how much over or under the Speed par of Today’s race the horse’s average Speed par is.
  • Pars +\- Rank: This is our own advanced metric that takes the average par for each leg of the race (E1, E2, and Late) and gives a weighted sum of the par plus/minus’s of the horse. The equation is shown below:
InClover's Pars Plus Minus Rank Equation
  • Sample Size: How many pacelines are included in the dataset.

ALLWAYS Pars Comparison Table
